Cycling across the Woolwich ferry,
Living on Mars bars and goji berries,
Ashamed of his irresponsible dreams,
Picking his history apart at the seams.
Wandering through the Ashdown Forest,
Wondering if he's the dumbest and poorest
Idiot child in the whole damned place.
Drinking, forgetting except for one face.
Flying the world for whoever pays,
Counting the cash against soulless days.
Embarrassed to be the most skilful they know,
More likely the cheapest who's willing to go.
Silenty crying inside all the time.
Aware he's invisibly tiny in time.
Attempting to hide behind all the others.
Gambling he'll win before being discovered.
