Valentine
Some years back, I acquired a seed for yew
And though I knew no rules to plant it by
Despite occasions when I thought it die
By chance or plan it gradually grew
Until last year I found some young bamboo
To nurture but I dumped it with a sigh
It didn't care for other plants nearby
Mindful that somewhere in me yew still grew
Geography no longer cutting through
I'm restless and I have an idea why
Not mine that tree's still out there to pursue
Grins anytime forget they're overdue
Em if he doesn't ask rather than cry
Remind him that behind him there's a queue
