No Tree, Let Alone A Ribbon

We're weeks and weeks ahead of schedule,
Strolling away by three every day.
We're hundreds of thousands under budget,
Sipping in limousines all the way.

The blazing sun is massaging our backs
As we lay on our laurels, up on the roof.
The main contractor's bought us our dinner,
Our satisfaction is his handover proof.

Everything worked on the day we turned up,
The site's so pristine we're not wearing shoes;
The tapes arrived before we installed,
The way this job's going, we just can't lose.

The people here are incredibly friendly:
They always offer us help and their tools.
We all love the city: the shops all have bargains,
The buildings have style and the hotel a pool.

We want to stay but our work is all done,
Our project all finished, the papers all signed.
The expenses were tiny but gave us a profit;
The bonuses made up for no overtime.

We're floating home with hand baggage only,
On Virgin, first class, with free champagne.
The meal was delicious, nutritious and fresh,
The chaffeurs are waiting to whisk us away.

So please accept our heartfelt thanks
For letting us work on a job with such class.
I want to express my own feelings too:
I've loved every beautiful minute. My ass.
